Meaghan Travis

PIANO

Meaghan Travis is an Ottawa-based Pianist, Music Researcher, and Piano Teacher. She recently graduated from the University of Ottawa with her Masters in Piano Performance, where she studied under David Jalbert.

She has worked closely with the university’s Opera Program as one of their rehearsal pianists, and was a finalist in the 2025 uOttawa Chamber Music Competition with her Piano Quartet. The group went on to perform at the NAC Fourth Stage. She often works collaboratively with other musicians from the Ottawa area. Meaghan also has a passion for music research/music theoretical analysis, particularly on the works of women/underrepresented composers. This Fall, she will be starting her PhD of Interdisciplinary Music Research on the subject under the supervision of Dr. Julie Pedneault-Deslauriers. She teaches piano with an approach informed by positive psychology, encouraging students to study music that both aligns with their personal interests and will help their growth as well-informed musicians.
