Anouk Marks is completing a Bachelors in Piano Performance at the University of Ottawa, where she studies with David Jalbert, head of the piano department.

Born into a family of musicians, Anouk began focusing seriously on piano at age 11. She has since earned numerous distinctions through the Royal Conservatory of Music, the Kiwanis Music Festival, and the Ottawa Piano Festival. Her former teachers include Jean Desmarais, Professor Emeritus at the Crane School of Music and the University of Ottawa. She has also participated in masterclasses with several leading pianists such as Benedetto Lupo, Janina Fialkowska, Charles-Richard Hamelin, Marc-André Hamelin and more. She was a finalist in the University’s Concerto Competition and the Chamber Music Competition. Last year, she performed Dvořák’s Piano Quintet No. 2 at the National Arts Centre and Liszt’s Vallée d’Obermann at Ottawa City Hall as part of Chamberfest. With many family members performing in Canada’s leading orchestras, she has had frequent opportunities to collaborate, fostering a deep passion for chamber music. In addition to piano, Anouk enjoys singing and has composed original works for a multidisciplinary project in her hometown of Wakefield, Quebec.
